Project
State Route 46

Client
Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT)

Location
Bloomington, Indiana

Description
The Indiana Department of Transportation has selected Level 5
Engineering to complete roadway design for the State Road 46 project in
Bloomington, Indiana.  Level 5 was already involved with the project,
designing a bridge structure over Cascades Road and retaining walls
associated with a bike path underpass structure allowing cyclists to cross
under State Road 46.  Due to the quality of work done on other parts of
the project and under their Open Ended Design contract, Level 5 was
selected and charged with completing the roadway design which was 65%
completed in-house at INDOT.

The goal of the State Road 46 project is to provide additional capacity on
this important roadway that acts as a north and east bypass around
Bloomington.  It involves coordination with Indiana University officials for
the inclusion of landscape architecture to mitigate the impacts of the
widening in adjacent areas including the university.

Construction Cost
$20,500,000
